Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology is conveniently located on the edge of the South End and Back Bay. The college does not have provided parking, so planning ahead for your visit or for classes will be very important.

There are limited metered parking spaces on Tremont Street adjacent to the college, but it is recommended that visitors, faculty, staff, and students take public transit to BFIT

By Subway:

  • ORANGE LINE MBTA (Back Bay or Tufts Medical Center Stations)

  • GREEN LINE MBTA  (Arlington or Copley Stations)

MBTA semester pass program:

The college works with the MBTA to offer a semester pass (4 months, unlimited) to faculty, staff, and students. Each pass is good for the semester that it is purchased for, and is purchased at an 11% discount over a monthly pass. 

  • FALL semester pass: Good from September 1 to December 31. Order form and payment are due by August 10 each year to Brett Wellman, Assistant Dean of Students

  • SPRING semester pass: Good from February 1 to May 31. Order form and payment are due by January 10 each year to Brett Wellman, Assistant Dean of Students

 You can easily get to the nearest commuter rail stop at Back Bay Station on the following lines:

  • FRAMINGHAM / WORCESTER

  • NEEDHAM

  • PROVIDENCE / STOUGHTON

  • FRANKLIN

By Bus Lines:

Bus lines: 9, 10, 11, 170, 39, 43, 55, SL4, and SL5


By Car:

There are metered spots along Tremont Street
