The mission of the Student Veteran’s Association at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology is to ensure the success of veteran students by providing academic, professional, and personal support through a network of professional and community organizations, students, staff, alumni, and faculty.

How Do We Support Student Veterans?

Explain and assist in using your educational benefits
SVA members representing nearly all majors and military branches
Peer academic support and resource sharing, along with professional development & regional conferences.
Personal & academic support with one-on-one academic advising and safe space programs like Green Zone.
Social outings, including sports games (Red Sox, Bruins), and other social and networking events.
Campus meetings every two weeks.

Veteran Graduation Cords

To recognize our student veteran graduates, the SVA provides red, white and blue cords for the graduation ceremony. Students will also be recognized in the graduation program and announced as a veteran when their name is called.

Veteran Resource Center

Through the efforts of the student veterans and faculty/staff, the BFIT SVA received a grant for $7,500 to construct the new Vet Center.  The Vet Center officially opened in fall 2015 by Secretary Francisco Urena, Massachusetts Secretary of Veterans Services, US Marine Corps; Ryan Hadfield, SVA President, Automotive Technology '16, US Army; and BFIT President Anthony Benoit.
