Franklin Honor Society
2015 Junto Award for Organization of the Year
The Franklin Honor Society has been established to recognize and encourage academic achievement here at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, and also to provide opportunities to a greater number of eligible students at the College for individual growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming.
The Franklin Honor Society recognizes and encourages scholarship among Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology students. Students who meet the following criteria will be invited to participate in the Franklin Honor Society as a Franklin Scholar:
- Maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.35 with no current grade below C
- Successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours during a semester
Should any Franklin Scholar’s CGPA fall below a 3.35 for one semester, that individual will still be recognized as a Franklin Scholar, be encouraged to participate in the organization’s activities and be provided opportunities to improve academic standing. Should the GPA remain below the requisite 3.35 beyond one semester, the student will be asked to step aside to focus on their studies and academic achievement.
Eligible students will be invited to join the Franklin Honor Society within the first two weeks of a semester. An orientation will be provided to introduce invitees to the organization’s mission and activities.
The FHS Induction Ceremony for new members will be held during the second or third week of classes in any given semester. The induction ceremony celebrates members’ academic achievements and acknowledges members’ commitment to continued achievement, leadership, and service.
