BFIT's opticianry program shines at leadership conference

BFIT Opticianry Program Group PhotoSAN ANTONIO, TEXASBFIT faculty and students shined at the Opticians Association of America's State Leadership Conference in San Antonio over the weekend! Professors Dibby Bartlett, Blair Wong, and George Bourque led dynamic workshops, while students participated in leadership activities.

OAA's State Leadership Conference is the premier networking opportunity for the opticianry Industry. The event provides leaders from all over North America time to discuss the issues facing the industry, and strengthen their professional relationships. Special thanks to Michael Tanzi, president of the Opticians Association of Massachusetts (OAM), for his leadership and collaboration throughout the conference. Professors Blair Wong, Dibby Bartlett, and George Bourque, led working sessions on leadership, mentoring, and higher education. Prof. Bartlett was named "State Leader of the Year" by the Opticians Association of America for her outstanding personal accomplishments and exemplary leadership in the profession of opticianry.

BOSTON, MA - Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology's Opticianry team was featured on Channel 7's Urban Update last week. Learn why Opticianry students and graduates are in such high-demand. Featured guests included Prof. and Founding Chair Blair Wong, Student Optician Gisele Soares and recent grad Anghelo Guevara. Superb job!
