Description of Duties:

Weston and Sampson is seeking a motivated, proactive individual to work within our growing MEP group as an Electrical Designer or Engineer I. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience and have a general familiarity with the design of electrical systems for new and renovation construction projects. The ideal candidate would be a confident, self-motivated, articulate person with excellent communication skills and willingness to grow, learn and work in a team-oriented atmosphere. They would also be interested in the design and construction of projects in the institutional, educational, commercial, water, wastewater and municipal industries. This individual will work with senior personnel to support our growing internal and external client base. A basic understanding of power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm is a plus. What you’ll do: •Working with engineers to conduct design for both new and renovation projects for a variety of facility types within the private, public and municipal sectors. •Design will include production of contract documents, field investigation of existing conditions and attending project meetings. •Responsibilities will include coordinating with multi-disciplinary personnel located in both local and regional offices, sub-consultants, utility companies, equipment vendors and clients. •A successful candidate should be capable of working with senior engineers in meeting the needs of the project.

Required Qualifications:

•Engineer/Technical degree or equivalent experience •Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in an engineering firm •Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is a plus •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills •Strong problem-solving skills •Demonstrate desire to grow with the group •Valid driver’s license
