Description of Duties:

RELCO is seeking experienced electrical apprentices who have completed at least 2 years of their field hours requirement. This position requires the ability to work at least eight hours per day Monday through Friday with the potential to work overtime hours and weekends as the job requires. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Install electrical equipment -Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility -Prepare and assemble conduits -Work overtime when required -Acquire required tools within six months of hire -Assist in getting materials from stockroom, move stock, load/unload trucks, carry pipe, boxes, clean up the job area, etc. -Climb ladder with material or tools, load wire reels (reels can weigh up to 215lbs), lift lights into ceiling, dig trenches, hold material and use screw gun or screw driver -Install various kinds of wires, cable and conduits in accordance with the requirements -Assist journeyman in pulling wires, attaching wires to fishtape and keeping wire free from kinks or abrasion -Connect conductors to switches, receptacles or appliances with proper methods of splicing, soldering and taping -Use rotor strippers -Maintain a safe work environment by observing and following all safety standards and procedures; complying with OSHA and RELCO standards -Dig trenches

Required Qualifications:

Skills Requirements: -Basic electrical and mechanical skills -Experience in commercial or industrial electrical work -Knowledge of the electrical code and the ability to research and retrieve information from the code book -Ability to read, understand, analyze blueprints and schematic drawings -Ability to follow directions and decipher technical information -Ability to complete work in a neat, safe, and professional manner -Knowledge of, and ability in, pipe bending, circuit wiring, feeders, services, fire alarm, wire pulling, underground, wiring electrical equipment -Ability to plan and project weekly material and labor requirements Certification Requirements: -Must be age 18 or older -OSHA 10 certificate, or willingness to complete through RELCO -Valid driver's license -RI and NH apprentices must be enrolled in the state's apprenticeship program -GED or high school diploma Character Requirements: -Team player with the willingness and ability to learn -Career oriented -Timeliness: It is mandatory to be on time and at work everyday -Hard working -Positive attitude -Neat and polite in presentation -Good communication skills -Ability to communicate technical information -Desire to lead
