Description of Duties:

Bulfinch Temporary Service is currently looking for a Sterile Process Technician to work for Massachusetts Eye and Ear. This position is 40 hours per week and begins ASAP and is ongoing. Please note this position is temporary in nature and not eligible for benefits. GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: - Under the general guidance and direction of the CPD Management Team the Central Sterile Processing Technician 1 applies entry level skill sets to perform basic Sterile Processing functions as instructed. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Must be able to perform all duties in accordance with the MEE Policies and Procedures. International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) and/or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD) standards and procedures should be understood and followed. - Instrument and Equipment Decontamination and Cleaning •Delivers empty, clean red biohazard carts to the Surgical areas •Retrieves full, soiled red biohazard carts from the Surgical areas to the CPD Decontamination Room Instrument and Equipment Assembly and Packaging •Delivers requested sterile and unsterile instrumentation to the Surgical areas as needed •Assists Instrument Technicians with basic functions as needed. •Maintenance of sterile inventory shelves Inventory Management and Case Cart Build •Returns carts and supplies not used back to CPD •Returns supplies not used after surgical procedures to their proper stock location. •Delivers requested sterile and unsterile supplies to the Surgical Areas as needed

Required Qualifications:

•Excellent organization, operations, people management, and problem solving skills are essential. •Must be able to speak, read, write and understand medical terminology in order to follow written instructions and complete various forms and records regarding equipment processing and preparation of equipment. •Must have working knowledge of computer programs; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and exposure to instrument tracking software. - Existing knowledge of EPIC and SPM are preferred. •Ability to multi-task is critical.
