Description of Duties:

Work closely with teams of Composite Technicians, Manufacturing Engineers, and Design Engineers to make jigs and fixtures and to assemble prototype vehicles. Key Responsibilities and Activities Interpret assembly drawings and instructions to assemble composite, mechanical, and electro-mechanical parts into subassemblies and prototype vehicles Use assembly jigs and fixtures to achieve high-quality assemblies and vehicles Fabricate and, in some cases, contribute to the design of assembly jigs & fixtures Use drawings or similar design specifications to trim composite parts Accurately document completed assembly steps and the type and weight of materials used. Required Skills and Experience Experience with interpreting technical drawings Proficiency with standard machine shop power equipment and hand tools (e.g., CNC 3-axis machining center (wood router), 3D Printer, Bridgeport mill, woodworking tools, mechanic’s tools, forklifts) Ability to use both hands with fine dexterity Strong math and measuring skills Highly detail-oriented, organized and able maintain a clean work area Excellent time management skills Able to follow instructions and established processes and procedures carefully Outstanding analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required Qualifications:

Desired Skills and Experience -2+ years of relevant experience -GD&T training/certification -Experience with aircraft, automotive or marine vehicle assembly -Ability to work with minimal guidance at times -Working knowledge of prepreg composite materials and techniques -Ability to assist in training employees with less experience.
