Welcome Shockers, alumni and fans! The Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology offers its students the opportunity to complete in intercollegiate athletics. The Institute, known as the Shockers, offers men’s soccer and basketball competing at the Division III level. The school has active membership in the National Junior College Athletic Association (www.njcaa.org.) and participates in Region XXI, comprised of two- year colleges from the New England region. The conference boasts some of the strongest competition in the country and makes all- conference and all- region selections at the conclusion of each season. Teams will have an opportunity to play post- season games at the regional and national level based on the success of the program. Try-outs for intercollegiate athletics are open to all students at BFIT. Each student’s eligibility is based on standards set forth by the NJCAA and BFIT. The Institute will assist student-athletes with recruiting efforts to continue their educational and athletic pursuits with remaining years of eligibility. The college is strongly committed to the progress of its students providing exceptional instruction in and outside of the classroom as students’ transition to the next phase of their lives.
