Marvin Loiseau, Dean of Recruitment, BS, M. Ed. Marvin began his tenure as Director of Admissions at BFIT in July 2011. Prior to BFIT, Marvin worked at Mount Ida College as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. He has over nine years of higher education experience in undergraduate and graduate admissions, financial aid, and residence life at Mount Ida, Babson, and Suffolk respectively. Marvin received his BA in Business Management from Mount Ida College, a Master Degree in Education from Suffolk University, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University. Calvin Conyers, Director of Admissions, BS Prior to joining BFIT as Director of Admissions in 2016, Calvin served as the Senior Associate Director of Admissions at Wheelock College and also worked in the admissions office at Mount Ida College. In addition to his accomplishments in his eleven year career in admissions, Calvin was honored with the "People Making a Difference in Our Community" Award by the National Urban League Incentives to Excel and Succeed. Min Chen, BA, MA. Senior Associate Director of Admissions. Formerly an International Affairs Officer at the Beijing Film Academy, Min joined the BFIT Admissions team in October of 2006. She was born and raised in China. She received her B.A. at Foreign Affairs College in English and International Studies, specializing in Diplomacy. In December of 2005 she received her double Master's in Communications and Political Science from the University of Oregon. Amanda Marstaller, BA, M.Ed., Director of Institutional Reporting. Originally from Maine, Amanda moved to Boston to attend Emmanuel College, where in 2004 she graduated with a B.A in English Literature. In 2011, she earned a Master of Education, specializing in Higher Education Administration, from Northeastern University. Amanda joined the college in 2011 as an Assistant Director of Admissions. Kiera Mahoney, BA, Assistant Director of Admissions. Kiera graduated from Curry College in Milton in 2005 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Women's Studies. She previously served as an Admissions Counselor at Laboure College. Leaving Laboure in 2008, Kiera decided to explore her passion for the health industry and worked as a certified personal trainer. After two years, Kiera left her career to stay at home and raise her two children. Terrence Forbes, A.S. Admissions Counselor Terrence is a native of Brockton, MA, and a recent graduate of BFIT. Prior to BFIT, Terrence worked at Shire Pharmaceuticals as a Facilities Planner/Designer where he performed on-site maintenance and management services. Terrence is passionate about working and mentoring incoming students from the inner city. Most recently, he worked in the admissions office as a student intern assisting with EAC recruitment and filled in as the admissions coordinator. Ackeem Hill, BS, Admissions Counselor. Ackeem comes to us from Wheelock College where he served as the Administrative Assistant in the Counseling Center. He was responsible for all administrative functions within the college’s counseling center. Prior to Wheelock College, he served as an admissions counselor at Assumption College and as an admissions intern at Union College. On the side, Ackeem is a member of the Boston Mass Choir where he performs at local events. Yasmine Julmisse, BS, Assistant Director of BPS Partnership and Community Outreach. Yasmine works with the Boston Public Schools to recruit students for degree programs as well as for the college's Early Access to College dual enrollment program. Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, she attended Suffolk University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. Lara Tavares, MA, Assistant Director of Admissions for BPS Lara works with Boston Public Schools to recruit students for the Early Access to College dual enrollment program at BFIT. Lara is originally from the Cape Verdean Islands. She graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School, and completed the Myra Kraft Transitional Year Program at Brandeis University where she later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education Studies and Sociology with a minor in Social Justice and Social Policy. She also earned her Master of Arts in Higher Education with a minor in Student Affairs from Boston College. Lara is passionate for empowering urban youth by advocating for their college access. Thomas Barrows, Admissions Operations Specialist. Formerly a member of the Campus Services Team at Wheelock College, Thomas brings a wealth of experience in higher education management, from managing the campus center, to overseeing basic maintenance of the residence halls, conference concierge services, and campus tours. previously, Thomas was an intern at EdLaw Project, and a participant in the Ubuntu Art Project for Mothers for Justice and Equality, where he facilitated a small group of 16-18 year old youths to collaborate with an onsite artist to create an art piece in relation to youth power. Thomas earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Juvenile Justice Youth Advocacy with a concentration in Political Science and Global Studies from Wheelock College. Alyika Pierre, Admissions Operations Coordinator. Alyika comes to BFIT from Lesley University, where she served as the Administrative Coordinator, managing the advising center, and working with retention data, administrative activities, and special projects. Prior to her current role, Alyika worked at the Watertown Health Center, the Anthony D. Perkins Community Center, as Gatehouse Security Officer for Allied Barton Security Services at Harbor Towers, and a Tele-fundraising Specialist at Salem State University. Jamie L. Santiago, BA, M.S, Director of Financial Aid. Jamie began working at BFIT in 2014 as the Assistant Registrar. Prior to BFIT, she served as Associate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Landmark College in VT, Associate Director of the Student Service Center at Emerson College and Director of Financial Aid at Hallmark Institute of Photography. As a first-generation college student, Jamie has a passion for helping students realize their college dreams. Shani Wilkerson, Associate Director of Financial Aid. Shani comes to BFIT from Wheelock College, where she served as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid. At Wheelock College, Shani assisted in the management of financial aid packaging and operations, served as a staff advisor to the Black Student Union, and mentored the “Wheelock Women of Color,” a college-wide organization for incoming first-year students. Prior to her time at Wheelock, Shani was the Senior Financial Aid Counselor at Roxbury Community College. She has also worked in financial aid at Northeastern University, and in admissions and financial aid at Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh, PA. Shani earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and earned her Master of Science in Leadership and Human Resource Management from Northeastern University. Ludnie Deneus, BS, Financial Aid Counselor. Ludnie comes to us from Grand Circle Travel where she served as the Senior Document Coordinator. Ludnie was responsible for collecting and processing all documents required for all customers looking to travel through Grand Circle. Prior to Grand Circle, Ludnie spent two years working in the office of professional and continuing education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Campus. Darleny Lopez, A.S., Financial Aid Assistant. Originally from Peru, Darleny moved to Boston and worked in the hospitality industry for over eight years before enrolling at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology – where she received her degree in Technology Business & Management. While at BFIT, Darleny has maintained at 3.5 GPA, was on the Dean’s List, and is a member of the Franklin Honor Society and the Women in Technology club. As of December 2016, Darleny transitioned from her work-study to a permanent member of the Financial Aid team. In her new role, she aids students in completing FAFSA applications, offering bilingual support and manages work-study students daily tasks among other duties. Contact: Dlopez@bfit.edu.
