Tuition & Fees - Benjamin Franklin Institute Of Technology

Tuition & Fees

Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology believes that a quality technical education leading to a rewarding technical career should be within reach for all interested individuals. As a result, tuition and fees are kept as low as possible without compromising educational quality. Tuition and fees outlined below are costs before financial aid is awarded to a student.

Tuition-Free Community College Plan

At Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, we believe college is too important to be limited to those who can afford it, so Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology is proud to partner with the City of Boston to offer the Tuition-Free Community College Plan. Eligible low-income Boston students can receive up to 3 years of free college tuition and fees.

 To be eligible, you must:

Graduate from a Boston public, private, or charter high school within one year of starting the plan

Be a Boston resident

Have a grade-point average of at least 2.0

Be accepted to BFIT

Be fully eligible for a Pell Grant, as determined by the FAFSA

Require no more than three developmental courses by the start of the semester

Have low household income, per HUD guidelines

if you meet all of these requirements, the financial aid office will notify in your financial aid package if you are eligible. If you are not eligible, we will work with you to offer the best financial aid option that makes it affordable to attend.

Net Price Calculator

The Net Price Calculator is a tool to help plan for educational costs at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology by providing an estimated “net cost” figure (estimated cost less estimated scholarships and grants). These figures are based on the 2013-2014 Academic Year. It is important for you to understand that the information you receive from the calculator is a broad estimate. Many factors come into play when we award financial aid to students including, but not limited to: deadlines, levels of funding, grade levels, and academics. Keep in mind that this is not a financial aid application and that the data provided or estimator results are not stored by BFIT. In order to receive actual financial aid awards, the FAFSA must be submitted each year of attendance.

Application Fee (Non-refundable Fee)

An application fee of $25 ($50 for international applicants) must accompany each application for admission to BFIT. College Board tuition waivers are honored. There is no application fee for students who apply online.

Tuition & Housing Deposits

A tuition deposit of $100 is required to reserve a place on the class roster. For new students who will be living in college-sponsored housing, an additional $150 deposit is required to hold your place in housing. Housing for the upcoming semester is limited and a deposit is required to hold your place and is subject to availability. For applicants offered admission, the deposit is payable by May 1 or within 14 days of notification of acceptance after May 1. Deposits received prior to May 1 may be refunded after the student has submitted a written request. Deposits received after May 1 are not refundable.
