Mechanical Engineering Technology
As many companies bring back manufacturing jobs to the United States, the job outlook for mechanical engineering technicians is increasingly bright. Furthermore, innovations in technology have drastically changed the manufacturing process. Now, high-skilled technicians are in-demand to help mechanical engineers design and build new technologies. Mechanical engineering technicians collaborate with engineers in the field to create tomorrow’s inventions.
Graduates from this program will:
Utilize SolidWorks software to manufacture engineering drawings and to analyze interference fits and tolerances
Program and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) hardware in an industrial environment
Design and build products and equipment
With a strong foundation in manufacturing processes and CAD (SolidWorks), graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program are prepared for employment as Machinists, Mechanical Designers, Design Drafters, Assistant Mechanical Engineers, Engineering Research Assistants, Mechanical Engineering Associates, Manufacturer’s Representatives, and Technical Specialists.
