Professor James Giumarra, Chair of Electronics Engineering
Technology. Professor Giumarra earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has been a full time member of Ben Franklin’s faculty since 2004. Professor Giumarra has worked on superconductors, thin film capacitors, piezoelectric switches, and cryogenic test systems. Professor Giumarra’s true passion is in helping young people pursue their goals.

Professor Mozhgan Hosseinpour earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and a CompuMaster Certificate in Computer Engineering Studies. Her experience includes the design, development and implementation of training curricula for industrial companies such as CP CLARE, ALPHA Industries, MA/Com and Tyco Industries in addition to experience as a personal computer consultant and information systems administrator. Professor Hosseinpour believes in providing students with opportunities through pluralist methodologies in the classroom to accommodate various learning styles, academic levels, cultural influences and personal interests for a differentiated learning environment.

Professor Russ VerNooy graduated from Southern Illinois University with a BSEE and Curry College with an MBA. He spent twenty years in electronics engineering, marketing and technical sales in the semiconductor industry and successfully trained engineers with tools to thrive and prosper. His areas of specialty include FPGA logic design, microcontrollers and network administration.
