The Office of Academic Affairs oversees all academic departments, academic planning, program development, research and creative work, excellence in teaching and academic innovation.

Marvin Loiseau

Marvin J. Loiseau, Ed.DDean of Academic Affairs

Dr. Marvin Loiseau began his tenure at the college in July 2011 and previously served as Dean of Recruitment. Before joining the college, he worked at Mount Ida College as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. He has higher education experience in undergraduate and graduate admissions, financial aid, and residence life through his roles at Mount Ida College, Babson College, and Suffolk University. He received his BA in Business Management from Mount Ida College, a Master’s Degree in Education from Suffolk University, and a Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University.

Gary Chin

Gary Chin Assistant Director for Continuing Education

Gary Chin is Assistant Director for Continuing Education and oversees the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (DPCS), which serves working adults who want to advance their careers through education. In his role, he develops new continuing education programs, ensuring that they align with community, market, and employer needs; establishes positive and productive relationships with community-based organizations, trade groups, and employers; and manages all phases of program implementation. Prior to joining Franklin Cummings Tech, he was Director of Community Engagement at Bikes Not Bombs (BNB) in Boston, where he managed community partnerships and basic bike education classes for youth and adults. He also helped develop and implement BNB’s new strategic plan, growing the organization from a $1.3M operating budget in 2020 to $4.1M in 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ithaca College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Marian University.

Dr. Meredith Quinn

Meredith QuinnExecutive Director of the Center for Computing and Interdisciplinary Technology

Meredith Quinn is Executive Director for the college’s Center for Computing and Interdisciplinary Technology within the office of Academic Affairs. As administrator of the Center, she supports the efforts of compliance management for each program under the Center. She also implement grants, represents the college at local, regional, and national conferences as our industry expert, and oversees the launch of new programs. Previously, she worked at Harvard University, where she served as Chief of Staff to the university’s provost, and head of strategy and academic programs for the Harvard Radcliffe Institute. She has also worked in higher ed strategy consulting, K-12 teacher recruitment, and management consulting. She holds an MBA from Stanford University and a PhD in History from Harvard.

Nikhil Satyala

Nikhil SatyalaExecutive Director of the Center for Energy Efficiency and the Trades

Dr. Nikhil Satyala is an experienced technology educator with 10 plus years of experience in teaching, research, curriculum/program development, advising and mentoring. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 2014 and a Master of Engineering in Electrical degree from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2007. He has published numerous articles and peer-reviewed papers in journals and conferences in the areas of semiconductor materials/devices, energy harvesting and nanotechnology. His teaching interests include electronics, renewable energy systems, robotics, automation, and programming. His mission is to create student-focused classroom environments with emphasis on hands-on activity-based learning.

Carlos Valentim

Carlos ValentimData Analyst Consultant

Carlos Valentim comes to the college from the University of Sao Paulo, where he was a graduate researcher. He has experience in modeling and simulating systems mostly concerning applied mathematics and life sciences. He also worked as a teaching assistant in engineering courses and has a significant scientific publication record on Applied Mathematics. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Biosystems Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo, Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Campinas, and is currently completing his dissertation for his Doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo. He has also earned a professional certificate in Data Science.
