  • "Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology changed my life.  I began at the age of 22 and did not see any hopes of graduating with a degree.  But with the personalized attention and faculty who really care, I now have a Computer Engineering Degree and work at IBM, something I always dreamed of doing.  The Career Services Office facilitated this internship and it has had such an impact in my life.  If it had not been for BFIT, my quality of life would not be what it is today.  Thank you BFIT!"

Student Involvement

Office of Student Involvement and Leadership
Express Yourself.  Get Involved.

We are your key resource for identifying involvement opportunities on and off-campus.  We provide student engagement and leadership-related campus services and programs.  We encouage student involvement through co-curricular opportunities of student organizations, intramurals, and civic engagement.

Student Clubs and Organizations

BFIT focuses on students’ personal growth and development through clubs and organizations offered each year. Student organizations are designed to promote and develop leadership and socialization skills through active engagement at the college and local community. While student organizations are voluntary and open to the BFIT community, some require students to meet eligibility requirements based on prior scholastic and demonstration of leadership.

Students interested in starting a new club on campus should make an appointment to meet with the director. Students should be prepared to submit a one-page proposal stating the mission of the club, prospective members and an approximate budget.

Campus Community Events

Students are highly encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities and events offered to develop students’ physical and mental abilities.

A highlight of each year is the Technology Olympics. Held in March, student and faculty teams face off in a variety of competitions loosely connected to BFIT majors. The student team champion receives individual trophies and has their team name engraved on the official Technology Olympics trophy displayed at the college.  Other annual events include, fall kick-off cook-out, Halloween party, multi-cultural feast, talent show, and spring carnival.

Campus Recreation

Intramural athletic competitions take place each semester. Comprised of individual and team competition past tournaments have included 3-on-3 basketball, billiards, table tennis, and flag football.
