Residential Life

Admission-2-02

Welcome!

Living on campus is one of the most exciting aspects of your college career! The Office of Residence Life and Housing is committed to creating an environment that is supportive of your individualism while allowing you to connect with peers. Our social, academic, and service programs are designed for you to experience all the great things that BFIT has to offer.

The Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology offers limited housing at the Midtown Hotel which is located in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, on 220 Huntington Avenue, across the street from the Prudential Center and only a 10-15 minute walk to the main campus.

Your hotel room has views of the Prudential, the Christian Science Center, Symphony Hall and only steps from the shopping centers at Copley Square! You’ll be living in the heart of it all!

Live in a Hotel!

Students will be assigned to a triple hotel room in a section of the hotel that is just for BFIT students (no doubles or singles available)! Each triple room is large enough to not have bunk beds (although the beds are stackable). The cost for the 2012/2013 academic year is $10,200 ($5,100 per semester).

Two Graduate Residence Coordinators (GRCs) live onsite throughout the academic year. They will conduct bi-monthly meetings at the residence hall to assist students with the transition to college, build community, create social opportunities through educational and social programming, and advise the Residence Hall Association. Residence Life staff will review and enforce all policies of BFIT and Midtown Hotel.

There are additional programs that involve the ability for students to purchase a lunch plan at local eateries and a discounted student membership at the Wang YMCA of Chinatown, which can be used at the YMCA off Huntington Ave, which is next door to the Midtown Hotel. These costs are separate from the housing agreement.

A $150 housing deposit is required to reserve a room. There will be a waiting list once all rooms are filled.
Returning students should submit their room deposit no later than May 31, 2013. Incoming new students should submit their room deposits no later than August 1, 2013.
