Updating...
Many parents and guardians have expressed concerns about notification in emergencies that may involve their student.
If an emergency occurs off campus, how would the college or the parents be notified?
Additionally, there is a new law that restricts hospitals from releasing Protected Health Information (PHI). The HIPAA Privacy Rule (Health Insurance Privacy Accountability Act) requires an individual’s consent before sharing his or her health information, even with parents. If your student is 18 years or older and is hurt and cannot speak for themselves, the hospital cannot inform you. With the CareCall service, we inform all your designated contacts and CareCall provides a HIPAA release form that is signed ahead of time by your student, kept as part of their CareCall membership and complies with the HIPAA law and empowers the hospital to release information to you about your student’s condition and treatment.
The regular annual fee is only $39.95
