  • "Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology changed my life.  I began at the age of 22 and did not see any hopes of graduating with a degree.  But with the personalized attention and faculty who really care, I now have a Computer Engineering Degree and work at IBM, something I always dreamed of doing.  The Office of Career Services facilitated this internship and it has had such an impact in my life.  If it had not been for BFIT, my quality of life would not be what it is today.  Thank you BFIT!"

Shockers Soccer

Intercollegiate Men’s Soccer

The Shockers completed the program's fifth season with a misleading 3-11-0 record.  Overall, the team consistently competed in close matches though the offense struggled to score goals and lost eight games by two goals or less. The 2011 roster was made up of talented players from high schools across Massachusetts including Somerville, Brockton, Jeremiah Burke, East Boston, Randolph, Newton, Waltham, Dracut as well as out-of-state players from both New Jersey and Virginia. The Shockers look forward to an improved 2012 season as the program returns an experienced nucleus that consists of the top four scoring leaders and seven starters. The Department of Athletics would like to congratulate and thank its sophomore student-athletes for their contributions to the program: Ivandro Carvalho, Felipe DaCosta, Francisco Garcia, Jourdain Miller, Ayoub Ouabira, Johnathan Tsirigotis and Ashton Walters.

The Shockers enjoyed their most successful season in 2009 with a first trip to the Region 21 playoffs. The team accomplished several team highs including league victories, a second place finish in the division and a NJCAA Division III national ranking throughout most of the season. During the program’s history from 2007 to 2010, ten Shockers have received All-New England honors:

1st Team- Joao Martins (2008 & 2009), Placido Teixeira (2008), Adilson Nunes (2009) and Zviad Gorgadze (2010)

2nd Team- Manny Amingwa (2008 & 2009), Luis Veiga (2009), Carlos Andrade (2009) and Alvaro DelaPuente (2010)

Honorable Mention- Carlos Hernandez (2008), Luis Veiga (2008) and Nick Andrade (2009)
