New Videos for Electrical Technology Program

Take a look at our new videos about the Electrical Technology program here at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, featuring Rivers Electric and two BFIT alumni.

Jobs in electrical technology are projected to grow 23% by 2020. New residential and commercial construction projects as well as an aging workforce will place high demand for trained and skilled electricians. The Electrical Technology program prepares you for jobs in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You will be introduced to all phases of the electrical industry including design, installation, estimating, and sales. Graduates of the program have found jobs as electrical contractors, estimators, product sales representatives, and systems designers.

From the designing of construction projects in residential, commercial, and industrial areas to the completion of these projects, students experience all phases of an electrical project. A ten-hour OSHA course provides students with an understanding of job site safety. Experienced personnel in the trades, as well as state regulators, such as the Board of Electricians and the Division of Apprentice Training, assures that the program is aggressive and ever-changing, with new methods and technology. In addition, our material is constantly updated to conform to the National Electrical Code, which changes every three years.
