The Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology Medal for Public Service
Benjamin Franklin was a creative thinker whose profound intellectual abilities advanced scientific knowledge, championed the ideals of liberty and democracy, and improved the quality of life for rich and poor alike. At his death, he left a bequest of 1,000 pounds sterling to the City of Boston to create what is now the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology.
