All applicants must submit copies of original secondary educational documents and, if needed, certified English translations to the Office of Admissions. Documents should include year of secondary school graduation, courses undertaken, and marks earned in each course, as well as exam results. The Center for Education Documentation provides evaluations of educational credentials and course-by-course reports for students educated at foreign secondary schools, colleges, or universities.

BFIT, not the agency, determines the final decision for the acceptance of transfer credit.

If accepted, students must pay the required $100 (U.S.) tuition deposit and $70 (U.S.) for processing the Certificate of Eligibility (I-20 Form) in support of their F-1 student visa.

We are also pleased to announce that we have entered into articulation agreements with ASC English and Harvest Institute Palisades Park to serve as our ESL Partners. For students who attend ASC English, you will be offered acceptance to the college if your TOEFL score is at least 79IBT/213CBT/550PBT and you meet the appropriate financial conditions. If you successfully complete ASC's Level 4, students do not have to take the TOEFL exam. For students who attend Harvest Institute Palisades Park, you will be offered acceptance to the college upon successful completion of ESL studies. For further information regarding this articulation agreement, please contact Min Chen, Assistant Director of Admissions at mchen@bfit.edu or 877-400-BFIT x132.

English Language Proficiency

It is extremely important that all applicants demonstrate fluency in English. Completing at least one of the following may do this:

1.    The Test of English as a Foreign Languae (TOEFL) administered by the College Entrance Examination Board.

2.       Submit a certificate of completion of English as a Second Language program from a recognized language institute.

3.     Satisfactory completion of the BFIT ESL program.

Financial Documentation

All international students are expected to have sufficient funds available to cover all academic and living expenses for the duration of their stay in the U.S. As an international applicant, you are required to provide BFIT with a financial statement showing proof of your ability to pay these costs for the first year of study. BFIT has estimated that $25,000 should be sufficient to cover first-year expenses, including tuition, room and board, books and fees.
